Ganpati Chaturthi 2024: Peer of the realm of Astuteness
India is a land of temples. Along with temples, there are numerous religious occasions near each and every day. In India, there are many religions, caste and creed. But today the majority percentage of the population here has been acquired by the Hindus. Other than India, Hinduism has been influenced in foreign countries as well by those Indians who had established themselves there. It is a matter of joy that the custom is being followed religiously and wholeheartedly everywhere. There are three hundred and sixty-five days in a year. According to the Hindu calendar each and every day is a festive day of organizing religious occasions. Some celebrate Durga Puja, Maha Shivratri, Laxmi Puja, Saraswati Puja, Chhatth, Gangour, Janmashtami, Kali Puja and so on. Ganesh Chaturthi is also one of the recognized religious days.
Ganpati Puja – An Invitation to Good Luck
God is one but there are numerous avatars of Him. Some know him by the name of Laxmi, Saraswati, Shiv, Durga, Kartick, Vishwakarma, Parvati, Vishnu and so on. Ganesh is also an avatar of God. He is recognized in the form of an elephant-headed structure with four hands. With good health, he holds a mouse as his pet. He also holds a container full of laddoos. He is also known by the name of Ganpati Bappa, Ekdant, Vinayak, Vighnaharta, Lambodar, Vighna Vinashak and many more.
The festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated all over India in his honour. With lots and lots of joy and grace, colours are added to the festival. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Ganesh is worshipped in the very beginning before offering any puja. It is believed that if there are many obstacles and difficulties in your life, Lord Ganesh with his power will burn away those pinpricks. The Ganesh is also regarded as the holder of wisdom and knowledge. If one can worship him honestly from the core of his heart, he will not only become intelligent but can also gain wisdom up to a high extent.
Before approaching for any good work the following Ganesh Mantra is chanted:
“Shree Vakratunda Mahakaya Suryakoti Samaprabha,
Nirvighnam Kuru Me Deva Sarva-Kaaryeshu Sarvada.”
This is a combination of Sanskrit words. Sanskrit is considered as the language of Gods. This is also called Devwaani. Each and every word holds its holy meaning. In a nutshell, it is being requested for blessings and success in work by removing all sorts of difficulties and risks.
Another mantra that must be chanted is as under:
“Aum Shreem Gam Saubhagya Ganpataye, Varvarda Sarvajanma Mein Vashamanya Namah.”
Holy Celebration of Ganapati Chaturthi
The festive and religious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated between the months of August and September with grandeur. The festive season starts from Bhadrapada Shukla Chaturthi and continues for ten days. This festival is celebrated especially in Maharashtra. The famous and uniquely known Siddhi Vinayak Temple is decorated by the best artists and decorators. In each and every house the rituals necessary are followed religiously other than buying new clothes.
Some of the most common activities included in the rituals are:
• People used to sit in a Pandal and the idol of Lord Ganesha was placed.
• Varieties of seasonal fruits, and colourful flowers are offered.
• People used to sing the aarti and pray deeply.
• The pandals and temples are visited day and night.
• Ganesha ji is regarded as the chief guest for this grandeur.
The festive time comes to an end on the tenth day known as Anant Chaturdashi. Processions are taken out where the crowd of people follow the same by dancing and speaking aloud “Ganpati Bappa Mourya”. Finally, the gracious image is submerged in the water. Everybody expects blessings along with lots of success. Again the festive occasion will be organized the next year with new hopes and expectations.

This year Lord Ganesh will be arriving on 19th September with new hopes and colors. The previous year’s obstacles will come to an end with best wishes. Though the idol is submerged, it is believed that Ganesh Ji is always with us and watching our each and every activity. Hence, it is advised to be honest and good. Let us celebrate the forthcoming occasion with lots of passion.
